Wooooo!
Good! Got my thesis back and still need to add some stuff so I'm going to the uni library tomorrow - haven't done that in literally years. Should be fun! Got lots of writing ideas and hope I can put some of them on paper today. I'm also pretty far in DQVIII, so I should be done with it soon!
Sure, I'll try. Homework comes first but I should be able to start this week. Might be able to send you a chapter 1 soonish, maybe. I am super tired though today. How are you?
Oh yeah, I can imagine. Did one mystery thing in the past (I think you read it), which I think kinda failed, but I'm still glad I did it and might do something with in the future. I'll soon be posting something mystery-ish that';s kind of an SMT/Devil Summoner fanfic, I guess? Hope school goes well for you! And that you write this soon so I can read it!
Good, just busy with school. I already have my murder mystery set up somewhat. I know who gets murdered by whom and why and I have my detective planned out. It's all the little nuances that will be the biggest challenge
Let me know when you do write your mystery thing! I can't wait to read it How are you, btw?
Thank you!
I also highly recommend the Cormoran Strike novels by Robert Galbraith (actually JK Rowling), but I'd classify them more as detective stories - while the mysteries are very nicely done and interesting, I think the series' largest strength are its characters and the way they develop over the course of the three books we have so far. Sorry if this isn't very helpful, but I find that reading stuff is really the best advice you can offer someone when it comes to writing a specific thing. There are a lot of people online talking about their "one true way to write" when there is none. It's always good to just pick up stuff that's already written and check out in practice how it works - that way you get to see first-hand just what you can achieve with what tools. I guess one important thing I've managed to observe is this - think about concealing things in plain view. The best twists (which a mystery novel needs, tbh) can be achieved by putting something right under a reader's nose but in a way that they'll miss it the first time they see it.
I... I just found a secret gay sauna in DQVIII
