Well happy to hear you're enjoying it. I'm taking a break from Zelda to get back to working on writing. Been reading a really cool article series about the development of all the Xeno titles.
Also, i think VI has my favorite soundtrack so far. There's one theme in this game that is just EVERYWHERE and there's a lot of brass doing this dissonant thing as a recurring motif. Sugiyama has outdone himself
I'll let you know how it was and maybe you can play it later too So I'll probably be taking a break after DQ VI, since DQ VII and VIII are coming soon, so I'll play IX after those. Now my wife really wants me to play Pillars of Eternity, now that she's finished it, so I'll be focusing on that after VI.
I know Pumpkin hasn't. I'll try to get by without anyone's help this time I mean, I'll probably look up some job guides, but that's it. I think I've gotten a good enough feel for the series. (Aside from that stupid point system from VIII that made me break all my characters...)
That's typical of the later games, you'll be like twenty hours into VII before jobs become available. Glad you enjoyed it though. I still haven't played VI, so I'm afraid I can't help you with questions. Though I think Bolivar and Pumpkin have played it.
I was very grateful that the final boss was much more bearable than Psarro. I mean, yeah, the battle was still stressful and kept me on edge, but I beat him on my first try. I would've been pissed otherwise because I actually used up some Elfin Elixirs. It was really good. Definitely the best one yet. And now I've started VI and I am having a blast. It's a bit silly compared to the more down-to-earth story of DQ V, but it's still intriguing, and I love the colors. Still, I have not reached vocations yet, which is kinda weird, since my characters have already gained quite a bit of levels without having any real jobs to speak of?

I beat DQ V!
I think I tried to use the family but my main monster party was better leveled so I had to pull my A Team out to beat Nimzo instead of using the my B Team family.
Oh right, I think I'm nearing the end of DQ V. I still haven't found Bianca, but I got Zenithia moving (I like that the castle is the airship this time). I'm kind of unsure about who should I use for my party. I actually think I may train eight characters this time and switch them around. I'm pretty certain I want to keep my main party this: Abel, Bianca, Saber and probably Rex (the son) since he learns Multiheal. Apart from that I have Tabitha (the daughter), Sancho, a Slime Knight and an Orc King. I have plenty more monsters as backup, but these kinda fill that healer gap that no human character really fills. And Saber is just great for hitting stuff.
