That always works. I could challenge myself but I'm pretty sure it would fall flat, my worldview could never allow me to do it justice. I'm sure I can write something more optimistic and happy, but I'm not sure I could do fluffy without it being really boring or make it look like I'm being sarcastic with how fake it feels. I don't know.
You can always challenge yourself that way I mean, I feel more comfortable with dark, creepy, depressing stuff myself, sometimes with some humor in it, but occasionally I do dip in fluff just for the hell of it. It's pretty cathartic in a very different way than the dark stuff. Still, all my ideas for love stories were super depressing, so while trimming off excess fat for one story, I decided I want it nice and cuddly because love stories with the particular trope I'm using are really ALWAYS depressing, so I wanted to do something new with it.
I don't think I can do fluffy.
