There are about 70 monsters that can be recruited in this game. The original allowed 40.
Is every type of monster recruitable or are there some restrictions?
Sadly it is pretty random. Though common/weak monsters tend to join more quickly than more powerful creatures. This mechanic is kind of how this game continues the grind heavy tradition of the series. Course once you start recruiting a bunch it's really addictive. Also, I find the monster party members are better than the human allies.
Yeah, I e been fighting slime after slime - nothing. Now that Harry left me, I think I'm gonna have to search around for a bit.
Go back to the Abbey to get a nun to open the tower. As for monster recruitment, it kind of happens randomly so just keep battling monsters until one joins. Slimes are pretty good companions so find one. Also monsters have their own level caps and equipment restrictions so be a bit careful.
So I only have a Brownie in my party aside from my hero Abel and Harry. I'm at the point where I go into his castle and talk to his brother and now I'm going into this tower to find what I assume is Ra's Mirror. Am I doing something wrong? I keep battling those monsters and no one else wants to join me. Also, I can't get into the tower XD The book said I need to talk to some monks, but I have not encountered a single monk in the game
