Have you looked at um...getting a shuttle from the airport to the place you're staying at?
It is pretty big. But there are plenty of signs and the people are really helpful and nice, from my experience. :)
I do it with smiles, too.
I would suggest LAX, just since it's the biggest, and it's an hour away. But if you have trouble with that one, the other ones around here are Burbank (the next biggest one), Santa Barbara, and...Long Beach has one I think? LAX is all international and so I would think that would be the easiest.
