Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. It's not so much the lack of story that bothered me, it was the fact the game is kind of bland without it. I'd rather have the job system and some of the game's cool twists like DQIII than a more straightforward "character-driven" experience. I've honestly never really cared for the characters of DQ games, even DQV is more entertaining to me from a technical level as opposed to being hooked by the story or characters.
  2. I've FINALLY given feedback to all the stuff in writing prompts and will soon be posting a new story, so I hope we can get this thing going again!
  3. Oh yeah, also, depending on how I feel after VI, I think I'll jump into IX straight after it and leave VII and VIII for later when they actually come out on the 3DS. I'm gonna need your guidance there too, as I remember royally screwing my characters up in VIII with the weapon proficiency system Yeah. Ever since Diablo II I kind of hate point-based systems.
  4. I really don't mind that, honestly. This is kind of the benefit of playing them in succession - I don't have the heightened expectations from later titles (except having played VIII, but that's kind of a different story). There was practically NO characterization in DQ I-III, so I'm not too bothered by them being quiet. The game's still really charming and I am really enjoying myself and can't wait to take control of my hero because I think he might be the only DQ protagonist so far that doesn't look like Son Gokuu XD
  5. Then they go pretty quiet after they join. Even when you complete story missions directly related to them, I don't think they react.
  6. I've checked on the Internet - the English version of DQ IV DS does not have party chat.
  7. Not really. I believe they talk a bit when they join but afterwards the party is silent unless you use the party talk feature if memory serves me correct. It was kind of my issue with the game.
  8. Meena and Maya seem quite interesting as well, though. And they actually speak! All the protagonists so far have been silent, so that's a plus!

Will Ragnar, Alena, and Torneko speak when they join my Hero? (I named him Solo, by the way, as I heard that's the name used for the male protagonist in the code)
  9. Yeah, his chapter is probably the most unconventional. Sadly the rest of the game is a bit more straightforward.
  10. I started Meena and Maya's chapter today. Torneko's was really cool, though I did have to walk around aimlessly a bit later on to get all those iron armours.
