Two jesters can be risky, so do it one at a time. Marcello sounds fine but you may want to throw a thief in there so your warrior gains better speed.
Ah, that sounds like a plan! But wouldn't having two Jesters in a party at the same be a bit too risky? So for Marcella, can I go warrior > martial artist > warrior?
Yeah, there is an item that can do so but frankly I prefer going the Fool route as they raise your Luck and you get a few more stat bonuses in addition to what you had before, before becoming the class. So I usually have a base class, make them a fool, and then a sage.
Ah, okay. I also heard there's another method to getting sages. It would be cool if Ernst and Rosa could become them.
You can always change them back when you need to. There is no limit to how many times you can change them.
Aw And I got so attached to their looks. Oh well. They're all about level 13 now so there's still a long way to go
Yes, the basic classes have lower stats than the hero, you need to switch jobs at least once before dealing with Baramos. Luckily the way it works, they catch up pretty quickly to their old selves by level 10 and by the time they get to level 20, they are stronger than they were before. You may hold off on mages if you like but you should have at least one melee type fighter go through with it since they don't get screwed over as much. You need to look at it as stat min/max cause the challenges in the last Act of the game can be brutal.
So you're saying I SHOULD switch jobs at some point?
You can switch jobs at level 20 (about the time you reach Dharma Temple/Alltrades Abbey). Switching jobs halves the characters stats but restarts them at level 1 so you can boost a character's stats nicely with proper switching. If you want to change a mage or cleric, it is best to wait until Lv. 25 as both classes get some nice spells needed for the rest of the game around then. So basically, you may want to do it to bolster strengths or compensate weaknesses. Like switching your thief into a warrior or turning a cleric into a fighter. Also, if you have a Jester/Fool in your party, they can automatically turn into a Sage, which is the best class in the game behind the Hero class. The main Hero can't change their job, to compensate for this, they have better stat growth, equipment options, and access to some unique skills. They level up slower because they remain in your party the whole game and can't switch jobs.
So how should I go about those jobs? Is it okay if everyone sticks to the jobs they have? Also, why does Hawk (my main character) gain levels the slowest?
