  1. You should check it out. The VA is terrible but the game is fun and the plot is the typical "mystery girl with magical powers the evil empire wants" but the combat system is fun.
  2. I've never played the original, but I do remember enjoying the hell out of II, so I can at least recommend that one.
  3. I never got around to playing Grandia II but I own Grandia 1 which was a fun if a bit silly game. Interesting battle system and mechanics though. I may need to check out the other games. Hell it's been ages since I played the original.
  4. I think it's easier to ask which story aspect was the... uh, the least weak

By the way, i keep talking about this game to others recently - have you ever played Grandia II? Its story is pretty identical to FFX (though they came around the same time, so I don't think it's plagiarism, just a similar source of inspiration to both), but it's done, well, better, at least, if not just well. it has an anime aesthetic, plenty of character interaction, a Kimahri that's actually useful in battle, and a neat action/turn-based battle system, a bit similar to ATB, but all the characters and monsters in battle share a bar but you can kind of "push back" enemies on it so managing turn order is pretty important. I recommend it, especially since it does feel a lot like a '90s anime, all the way down to the cheesy voice acting, and I think it's been rereleased on the PC again recently.
  5. That's my favorite scenario of the bunch, Valiant is the trait you should have gotten though that's the GBC unpunny translation.
  6. There were different scenarios? Huh I got the one where I'm a dragon who came out of a well and was going to go on a murderous rampage, but I ended up killing only the one guy that wouldn't let me get away. My character trait now is apparently... Plugger? I'm pretty sure it was something different before
  7. I forgot to ask, which scenario and personality did you get from the opening segment of DQIII?
  8. Never got far enough in the original to know if I should care though.
