Well, I guess we'll see how I like that. C'mon Santa, bring me Dragon Quests!
It's not bad in VIII and it helps it is spoken. It's a little harder when you have to read through it. It doesn't help that IV kind of renamed a few places to keep with the dialect theme. The twins chapter is a pain with all the French being thrown around.
I actually loved the various accents in VIII!
Thee Olde Butchered English has its own charm but maybe I'm more lenient because I grew up with it. I honestly didn't care for the overly accented regions used in DQIVDS. It was a nice touch at first but made reading the script a chore.
Though I'm still much more annoyed by the Early Modern English script because I had history of English at uni and this is not what it looked like!!!!!
Yeah, the puns are th eother reason I have issues with DQVIII and IX. Part of me now wants to find the Super Famicom remakes for DQI-III now that we've been discussing them. I'd love to play through the third game but I only have it for GBC and I would need new batteries to get my GBC going again.
Glad I'm not the only one : Seriously, the pins are one of the reasons why the Ace Attorney series never appealed to me.
Yeah DQ has like four different translations. The one for the GBC is my favorite because the new translations love making everything incredibly punny which I hate. The Life Sigil should actually be in the Road to Rhone. Loto's Armor is also sealed away in one of the towns but you have all the keys now so you should be able to find it soon.
Ah, okay, I'll keep that in mind. I actually just got the Thunder Rod so I guess Elaine has her best weapon already. Is the heal shield the shield you buy in that underground town? If so, they're called Power Shields here and are super pricy... I also think I have Erdrick's shield already too, so that's good to know. I also got the Soul sigil from the king of the kingdom from DQ I - so is that all the sigils? The DQ Wiki had a different description for the Life Seal, and I'm not sure if they're the same thing or not? Oy vey... I got another prayer ring, by the way! It was in that island town that I found the gold key in. I'm gonna ration it this time around...
There is another Prayer Ring in Lune Tower and one in the Ocean Floor if you didn't get yours from there, otherwise you'll have to play the lottery. Wellgarth has the best gear in the game for some of the heroes. The Fur Coat is the second best armor for the Princess but the Water Robe is the best Armor for her. The Fur Coat is also good armor for the Red Mage Prince. Every party member should have a heal shield, while the main character can get better shields and the Princess can't equip them, using them in battle casts Healmore so that will greatly help with the MP issue. The best weapon for the Princess is the Bolt Staff which is dropped by the Magus, there is one fought in a chest (you may have encountered him by now if your using your new keys) and others can be fought towards the end of the game. The Magic Hat is also the best and only helmets the RM Prince and Princess can wear but they are rare drops from enemies encountered in Rhone. The RM Prince's best weapon is either the Falcon Sword found in Tuhn which has low attack power but allows him attack twice in one turn, or the Light Sword found in Wellgarth which has just high attack but not as good as the MC's gear. The MC is a bit of a different story, his best gear is found, the Loto Shield is his best regular shield along with the armor, and the Thunder Sword (found in the Road to Rhone) is his best weapon. I say regular because technically the Demon armor, shield, and sword are his best gear but are all cursed and probably too much of a hassle to bother with.
