  1. The Prince will send you on a bit of a wild goose chase to get him but it's not long into the adventure. Same with the Princess. The Prince is a bit of a Red Mage type able to fight and use magic though limited in both and the Princess is pure mage.
  2. Ok, so I started and wow, more than one enemy per battle.

Where and how soon can I get my teammates?
  3. Like the first game, it's pretty straightforward. My only advice is to use a guide to acquire all the seals and the Statue of Marloth as the original was awful about hints and it was very likely that you could trek into the Road to Rhone and find out you can't get any farther because you missed one of the items.

Other than that, the game is very simple with three party members who gain skills as they level up. Just keep your levels and equipment up and you should do fine. Also the final boss has a certain notoriety for being a cheap boss due to a faulty A.I. script. I hear it has been kept for all ports though.
  4. So I've saved the princess and am now going to be preparing for the Dragonlord. Any tips on II before I start that one?
  5. You get it in the town of Mercado. It's a town south of the Dragonlord's castle and it's protected by a Golem.
  6. Where do I get the flame sword?
  7. You'll need the Magic Armor and Flame sword to deal with the dragon. He's actually a bit beefier than the ones normally encountered. The Mad Knight guarding Loto's Armor is also stronger than normal units.

You'll need the Seal of Loto before you can make the Rainbow Drop as well.
  8. I did. I got the sunstone so now I think I can pick up the one in the Sotheast. I tried freeing the princess but the dragon's a bit too strong so far.
  9. Yeah... well the level points needed drops off pretty bad around level 15 I believe, at which point you need a ludicrous amount of XP for every level afterwards. Have you begun looking for the artifacts needed to make the Rainbow drop?
  10. So I think I got pretty far in DQ? I'm level 10 now and I heard the cap is 30, so I think I'm doing well. Just got to the point where people sell keys so I can open all those doors.
