I wish I could send you all the photos of yummy things I've been making recently. Very much back into the cookery! Blegh. I want to just get a nice quiet 20 acres or so in the countryside and start my little homestead. Good thing about Canada is that, while it's all still very expensive, there are a lot of quiet places. It's a ridiculously big place. xD
Oh man, delish! Yeah NZ is hella expensive, I think you probably made the right choice. Average house price in Wellington is about 1mil, land is cheaper but honestly not by much.
I made a glorious Smoking Bishop over the weekend, and it honestly made me jizz my actual pants. Highly recommended. Ung, I want to go back to NZ so bad. It was on my top two when I was making a choice where to emigrate; opted for Canada due to having friends here already, but I do often sometimes regret it. I hear land is a mothersmurfer to buy in NZ, though, so maybe I made the right choice for my plans!
Yes, bring all the Christmassy alcohol! Christmas alcohol forever! I mean, NZ is gorgeous, but yeah... the weather ain't great
Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. I am now coming over to beat festive spirit into you (largely by way of Christmassy alcohol tbh). See you in a couple weeks! That makes sense. We did have 100km/h winds preventing us from doing the Tongariro Crossing, now that I think about it, so maybe I'm only remembering the pretty bits. xD
Eh, I don't really celebrate Christmas, and I'm not close to my family, so it's really just another day for me. The weather's nice north of Auckland, so that's the place to go if you want sunny weather and nice beaches. Everywhere else is a bit troute weather-wise but the nice weather we do have can't be beaten :P I think you were tricked when you were here, the same way the UK tricked me!
why you aloneeeee, Christmas is the time to spend time with loved ones! Ghost town Welly sounds lovely though Ewwwww, you're supposed to be better than that in NZ. It was lovely when I was there!
I'm always alone on Christmas, just the way I like it. Wellington becomes a ghost town and it's so nice and quiet. Unfortunately, this is NZ and it never stops raining here. If we're lucky we might get, like, two full days of sun this summer.
trout, bud, that actually does sound dope. I'm billy no mates this Christmas - as with all Christmases since emigrating - so a quick wrastle and a dip in the sea would be a delight.
Do it, I dare you. We will fight and then enjoy Christmas the way it's meant to be - in the summer.
