Ah, well we did have the Governor General dissolve parliament so at least that one earned his keep. I guess. It was a terrible decision but whatever, politics here is stupid.
Yeah, it's not technically the Queen, but her representative, the Governor General, can dissolve parliament if they wanted to which is kind of messed up even if it wouldn't actually happen. Though that kind of means our tax money pays the Governor General who doesn't do squat. Also, it is awesome! Thanks.
I don't think we still pay tax "to the queen" but who knows, could be possible. Either way, April 30th is a good date to remember and it probably applies outside of Canada as well. I like that my thoughts and feelings can be summed up as smurf everyone who's not me. I also like that there's a Picard pose for each. As for the Canadian tax advice I promised: most people have to file by April 30th to avoid interest and penalties. The deadline for people who are self employed is June 15th though. Unless you owe the government money. Then they back date your interest to April 30th because they like to screw people over. So if you ever move to Canada, just file by April 30th and avoid paying the Queen (yeah, I know, why the smurf do we still have a Queen?) more than you have to. Or just shoot her. That could work too.
