Hmm, third trial is shaping up to be interesting. There's a lot of clues I haven't pieced together, and yet somehow by process of elimination there's only one person I can really think of as being the culprit this time. (SPOILER)Makoto and Genocide Jill are out by default. I can't see Kyoko or Byakuya as culprits either. Nor Sakura or Asahina. And if Yasuhiro really didn't commit the crime (which would conflict with the very structure of the game, as the trial would be resolved correctly if I did absolutely nothing) that leaves only Celeste. Although she couldn't have done it all by herself either.

I can certainly see why. And I know the big thing I love about it can be a huge turn-off to most people. So there you go.
Actually, there's one person I know who liked DR1 but dislikes DR2: Ultima Shadow, who also happens to share my opinions on just about evvverything else. Still, I'll give it a fair shot, don't worry =P
Don't get me wrong - the anime was very good, and it kept me on edge and everything. it's just the nature of these trials that really makes you feel like you are in the trial room with all the characters that is just missing there. It doesn't really pale in comparison to the game, but more like the game actually has an element that can't really be replicated in an anime. Still, you should play DG2 as soon as you can afterwards. It is... something else, certainly. Everyone says it's so much better in every way. I liked it about the same as the first game, but some things were better, some were worse, IMO. I still think it's pretty excellent. And I know I haven't played many VNs (like, Danganronpa, Zero Escape and Ace Attorney is my full repertoire excluding games that are VN/RPG hybrids like P3P and Fire Emblem Awakening), but I still think this series might just be my favorite of the bunch.
I can only think of two VN adaptations I actually hear some people say are better than their original counterparts, so I'd have been pretty surprised if you said the anime was better =P Ah yeah I remember hearing about that. How curious. Well, first I'll have to finish this one and wait for DR2, then I can start worrying about that.
