Point taken Beat the Delta Episode. Apart from more forced dialogue, it was pretty cool. While I miss the complexity of the spear pillar, that cutscene with Rayquaza was incredibly awesome.
It wasn't that I felt strongly about Kalos. More that I just didn't feel strongly at all about Hoenn.
Well, maybe I enjoyed it more since I didn't feel so strongly about Kalos
While I liked some of the new features, it felt like a step backward to me. Mauville was supposed to be a counterpart to Lumiose. But Lumiose felt so much grander, so much more REAL. Hoenn felt like a level. It felt clinical, structured, and dead. Kalos felt like a real place. The camera angles, the changes in lighting, the well designed locations. It just felt better. OR/AS felt like a ROM hack of XY. A good one, but not any more than that.
I was quite fond of it, personally. The only thing I didn't like that came out was that they left out features that were awesome about GS - a day and night cycle, multiple regions, etc. But I also played A LOT of it when I was a kid and I really enjoyed all the new Pokemon. This was an awesome trip back memory lane, even if Game Freak doesn't understand that sometimes less is more
Ha ha. Thinking back... Yeah, that seems right. I really don't like Hoenn overall, though. The region just seems so bland compared to most of them.
