I'll have to check it out sometime. Lately, I've been in the mood to watch Moulin Rouge again.
Also a cute movie, but much less original than the Book of Life. I'd still recommend it.
I never saw Big Hero Six.
I also had an interesting experience watching it, since my wife studies Spanish language and culture (well, not just Spanish, I mean all places where you speak Spanish; the word escapes me for some reason). She enjoyed it a lot, despite not being too find of family animation, but I'll agree with her that it was better than Big Hero 6 (though I still love that movie). I was kinda annoyed with the Ice Cube character, though.
Yeah it was a really cute movie. Makes me appreciate the Chicano Class I took in college for cultural awareness.
By the way, the Book of Life was awesome. The bullfight scene in the afterlife sent chills down my spine.
Well that's cool. I should probably get back to that FFVI translation project I started years ago when I was doing my Japanese studies. Nah, I'll probably forget about it for now and work on something else I've been putting off longer. The Book of Life is a pretty cute movie. I love how it really embraces Central American religion and themes. The plot isn't too bad either.
Tell me about it! Gonna watch The Book of Life today, see what all the fuss is about. Although, really, it's not as bad as it could be. I'm doing some fun stuff as part of my job - I'm actually part of the translation team for Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition, so even though I'm physically losing it, at least I can do something that feels fulfilling.
