Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. Mine has characters and the basic elements of the scenario setup for them. I also have four endings and a really crappy teaser for it finished but I don't think my partner has really started drawing until I finish the character scenarios. It started off really simple but in the planning stages the gameplay evolved and now it's probably a bigger task than we're both prepared for but whatever. We'll get it done.
  2. It's at the very, VERY initial draft stage I have some character concepts, a general idea for the story and setting. I would like it to be a hybrid of VN and point-and-click adventure, but that would be a really huge commitment. Story-wise, it's a mystery story that I may want to incorporate dating sim elements into, but that's still all just an idea. Actually, the last story I posted into the prompts thread is kind of a draft of a scene I have in mind for the VN.
  3. Yeah I've been listening to it on Youtube but I hate babysitting the screen to keep certain tracks on loop.

I thought I told you I was working on a Visual Novel style game? Started a year ago but we're both busy between jobs and other projects. As the SH2 OST will tell you, it's a horror story. How is your VN going?
  4. You're making a visual novel game too? Wow! I mean, maybe "too" is the wrong word here, since my friend isn't all that eager to help me >.>

But the OST is great! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It has some of the best tracks in the series, and is generally very pleasant to listen to, against all odds.
  5. On another note, I purchased a copy of the Silent Hill 2 OST which I'll be eagerly waiting for. I'm hoping to use it to help write my visual novel game a friend and I are working on.
  6. I'd say a little of both actually. I don't know, I feel Toriyama thinks he's a better writer than he is and he's adequate for most people. He just grabs low hanging fruit.
  7. Or maybe we're just spoiled by the superior stories of Takahashi and Matsuno.
  8. Yeah both X and XIII were a mess.
  9. Yeah, although you can really see the shades of potential in FFXIII. The world could've really been something if it was handled by somebody who actually knew what he was doing. Toriyama really needs to stop making games.
  10. When it's the game introducing new fans to the expectations of the series, I feel its a matter of great concern. Its a terrible game, FFX was a poorly implemented game but at least it's ideas sound good on paper, they just suck in execution. XIII had terrible ideas that worked just as well as you thought they would.
