Well, you got a whole love dodecahedron there! It looks really interesting! I can tell you've put a lot of thought into it. Considering how well your style is evolving, I'm positive you can make it work wonderfully in your book My book basically has just couples, not really much drama going on between that, to the point that I actually want to make the official couple becoming a couple basically an afterthought, with no convoluted love triangle that has been plaguing YA in recent years (at least not a traditional triangle). I'm also glad you noticed that about them! That was what I was aiming for - they're a couple among a group of friends who only happen to be two guys. I always thought that was the right way to go, so I'm really happy you confirmed that for me There was also a hint of there being another couple in Martin and Mia, though I guess that could've been too ambiguous, as those characters barely made an appearance. There's also the thing Leo has going on with Jess, but I guess I want to keep that as hazy as possible, hoping more comedy can come out of it in the future
They are a good couple. And I actually think its great that you have a gay couple just portrayed as a couple. A lot of stories involving a couple like that make it the center focus and a big deal, so its nice to see a setting where its just normal. If that makes sense. I have a few couple. Alex and Chaz are kind of my "stable" couple. They're together from before the story and they'll be together after. They don't have that traditional falling in love story, because it's already happened. Nathan was with Erica at the beginning, but he ends up with Julia in what is the more classic love tale. You saw the prompt where Julia has to marry someone else for political reasons. Jeffrey's story is a bit more complicated. He thinks his fiancee has died and just as he starts moving on and might be falling for Sara, his fiancee comes back, leaving him with quite a struggle with his feelings and leaving Sara pretty frustrated and angry. Sara also had a relationship with Nathan's brother pre-story, but she's moved on whereas he hasn't. Julia's sister has a lover, but it isn't really a focal point at all and is barely mentioned. More of a background thing. Now Dylan seems to be developing something with Nina, but I'm not sure how far that will go yet, because I hadn't anticipated they're being anything more than friends

Basically, chapter one is a retelling of that, what with all the dragon attacks, but the whole idea has been steadily evolving over the years into something I had never anticipated. It became much darker, it used to be more about the wonder of magic, but that idea steadily evolved as I became more... Mature? Cynical? I don't even know. I think the best ideas are those forged over the years. You then have a lot of time to put all the thought you need into it Also, I know you can't really ship your own characters (I think MJNSEIFER started a thread about this), but I guess I'm stupid, 'cause just after this one short, Freddie and Ian have become my OTP. I mean, just look at them! I know you've already seen this, but I just really can't get over this You should draw your couples sometime! I remember Alex is with Chaz, but could you remind me what all the other relations are? I still can't really recall all the guys names since I haven't drawn them yet
