You should talk, yeah. From what I know, that thing about one-sided vows is canon to all of the Roman Catholic Church, since it's directly established by the Vatican, so technically individual priests don't have the right to limit that.
His wedding was not recognized by the Catholic Church, no. But it may work differently here because I looked up at several Churches and they will under no circumstance marry someone who has been legally married before, or is not of Catholic faith. Plus a whole other list of reasons. I may try and speak with a Priest directly when the time comes and see if he would be willing.
You know that you can get married in a Catholic ceremony with only one side saying the vows? I know this works for couples where one is Cathoc and the other is atheist or a different religion. Also, if his previous wedding was not recognized by the Church, it still shouldn't be a problem. Unless he is Catholic and that was a Catholic wedding. If so, that's a bummer, because I don't think one-sided vows work in that case :/
Yeah, I am excited to get married one day, and I even have a theme and stuff picked out. I'm just a bit sad because if my current relationship leads to marriage (which I hope it does, one day) I won't be able to get married in a Catholic Church, which is important to me, because he is divorced.
Well, I mean, you don't really need to think ahead if you're not engaged yet, but I guess fantacising about weddings a little bit can't hurt
Well I'm glad I'm having some conflicting feelings about my own wedding, but I'm not even engaged yet, so I try not to think about it too much xD
