I've reached chapter 9 and it's pretty bad, you were right. Ugh. So anyway, how's your writing coming along? I remember you mentioned starting some bigger projects. ToriJ has encouraged me and now I've decided to post my longer stories here on the forum, so if you'd like, please take a look and give me some feedback when you find the time Here's one: http://home.eyesonff.com/showthread....23#post3478823
You haven't reached Chapter 9 or the later Chapters yet. The character building in the first 8 chapters are a far cry better experience than the crap they lay into you later. Crystarium isn't going to improve I'm afraid and once you get to Pulse the Equipment system finally becomes important and brings back all the grinding you have probably missed.
Siri always tells me the best places to get rid of them, so... Been really busy. Work and school together are a lot on their own, and I'm also trying to write and play games in the meantime, so it's pretty tough. I'm pretty far in XIII already, chapter 7, I believe. This may be because I went into the game knowing it's terrible, but it actually hasn't been all that terrible for me, though the Crystarium is getting pretty dull at this point. And I can totally see what you mean about wasted potential - the world would've been amazing if they actually put more thought and effort into it, and Lightning could have been an incredible female protagonist if they tried to flesh out her character with more subtlety instead of the cheap forced drama that was so prevalent in X and seems to be what they went for here. "Worst birthday ever." Yes, that's a line a real person would say in that situation.
They probably will, especially after I pick the right spot to bury a few of them... How is TWWoF doing?
Ugh, I know that feel. Don't worry, though, things have to get better eventually
Tired, and hating people.
Hello, Flow Annok. How are things?
I feel contrast is a good thing most of the time, but with X-2, it felt like two different stories competing with each other and neither ever mixed well.
You know, that Ulala is looking at me so seductively as I look at our conversation. Starting to feel a bit uncomfortable
Hmm... Yeah, true. But it was still lighter than X. It did try to sell its love story as something deep but it was nowhere near as self-important as X. But see, all the silliness made me forget there was even a serious plot underneath all that X gave you no such relief. Also, I feel tonal shifts can work really well. Xenogears had some really silly moments, but its overall story was fantastic. I'm not trying to compare it to X-2, though Xenogears was awesome, while I merely had more fun playing X-2 than X.
