Frankly the more I thought about it, the more I did begin to feel it could be done but as I stated, I feel it would dramatically change the game and probably alienate the younger base a bit but I still wouldn't mind seeing an older cast if it was based around a family scenario like you suggested. I think it could work then though I would worry that the social links would ultimately overtake the plot.
You know, I've been reading through that a Persona 5 thread and I agree with you completely. I don't think a game with adult characters would work just as well. But the reading through all the speculation gave me an idea for a fanfic(even though I never actually write fanfic) in the Persona universe, where the main character is a stay-at-home dad that is going through a midlife crisis and raising a teenage daughter and little son while his wife spends all get days at work, and the main underlying theme in all the "social links" would be something like chasing after lost youth or something It's something I don't think would work in a game, but in a fanfic - it might. If the idea sticks, I might try to find some time and motivation to write it and then maybe I'll post it here somewhere
