P4 was an awesome game, I love P3 a bit more but at times its really hard to choose between them.
Same here. Though what are the odds of that happening, eh? I once stumbled upon an article saying Camelot wanted to do a sequel, but there's no sign of it yet, so... Anyway, finished Persona 4 some time ago Got the true ending. It was an amazing experience
Fair enough, I still hope they might bring us a BoFVI one day...
I gotta admit, the Dragon Gene system was awesome. But that was actually the only gameplay element that stood out, since, IMO, enemy skills were quite poorly executed. I liked the cast and epicness overall as well, yet it was kind of stupid that the story was told in a way like: go there, do this, meet God, fight your long-lost friend who is now evil, kill God, etc. As a whole, I felt it hosted a lot of wasted potential.
Dragon Quarter has that effect. I'm currently replaying both BoFII and IV right now. III to me just had a good cast, I liked how it turned the silly plot from BoF I and II into something a bit more awesome and epic but most of all, I was just a huge fan of the Dragon Gene system which was freaking amazing after only playing the first two entries for years.
Well, I never got to beating II, but that was because my GBA cart got broken, but yeah, BoFI was pretty meh. The rest is nice, though I really did expect more out of III. The story to me seemed to have had so much potential, yet it was executed in a less than outstanding way. BoFIV was really great in terms of gameplay (switching characters mid-battle and choosing who goes first? Anytime, babe ), story, setting, and music. Dragon Quarter blew me away in quite a different manner.
I like III better, but it has more to do with the balance of the story and gameplay. IV bogs the player down with too many mini-games and diversions which sorta hindered the narrative. Despite that, IV definetly had a darker and better written story. I'm up in the air when it comes to my absolute favorite in the series. I really love each installment with the possible exception of BoF1 of which I'm neutral on. What about you?
So while we are on the topic of BoF, am I the only who thinks IV was way better than III? There seems to be a tendency to credit III with the best story and whatnot, but I don't see it. The presentation was weird, while IV's was darker and had a better pacing.
That is funny but I'm certain we do differ on some key interest. Still its amusing no less.
I recently stumbled upon a post of yours in the Dragon Quarter thread and came to the conclusion, that the way our tastes in video games are alike is just scary
