  1. Sigh... Whatever you say.
  2. So I'm learning not to play!
  3. I don't mean learning practical battle strategies or anything.

In this case you can learn to let go. You can learn not to force yourself to always be perfect. You can learn to just enjoy the thrill of the battle. You can learn to handle failure better.

There is a whole lot to learn, and usually we don't see half of it at first glance.
  4. I almost never learn things from competitive play, actually. I'm too high strung to even track what I'm doing, let alone how I can improve. Or I can see where I can improve, because they're really frelling obvious mistakes that just reinforce to me how bad I really am. I don't want to turn the game into a job.
  5. I mean, when you think about it, what's the point in all this if you can't go out there, get dirty and just try everything on your own, even if you get hurt in the process? You have a new experience, you can learn through it.
  6. Simple mathematics.

A blank record is a balanced one. No wins, no losses. Net result: 0.

Compare this to a 2-1 record. 2 wins, 1 loss. Net result: +1

Now look at a 1-2 record. Net result: -1

    1>0>-1
  7. I couldn't disagree more.
  8. A blank record is better than a losing one.
  9. Then you have no room to grow. At all. You have no experience to learn from, no joy of overcoming obstacles. It may be clean. But also kinda dead.
  10. The only winning move is not to play.
