I wish so, I want to see him do something else besides MGS for a change. He did have the Boktai series but eventually it lost its popularity and he moved back to MGS.
Yeah, I figured as much too. He has his own development team and everything now, right? Maybe that can take some of the weight off while he can hold on to that job security.
I'm sure it's hyperbole but considering how crazy the games can get, I doubt Kojima wants to take the chance, but I'm sure it's really job security part that is more of the deciding factor.

I wouldn't know for sure since I don't follow this stuff. Either way he could always say no and do what he was planning to do. Unless there's something I'm missing here.
Actually, I think it is the other way around. He's been wanting to leave the series for ages and just leave it to his development team to continue the franchise on but the fans keep insisting he be the one to write and direct his games.
Overall I'd say yes. But I think most people on here would agree with you about MGS4. The thought process going around is that Hideo didn't want to end the series and decided to be over the top on purpose in his response and people ate it up anyway. I can't believe people were giving him death threats to end the series, though.
It's not a bad game but I kind of felt it was a weak MGS. Part of it was the improved gunplay kind of wrecked the game's balance but also because the plot sometimes felt like it was half-hearted in explaining things. I would still say go for it though cause I think I'm a fringe element in the MGS circles concerning that game.
I think so too. I still haven't played MGS4 yet. I got the game last Christmas just haven't had the time to dig into it. It's coming, though. Once I'm done with my request list I'm jumping right into my PS3 library.
