As much as I bitch, I think MGS2 was still a pretty damn good game. As you bring up though, MGS4 was a different story.
Metal Gear Solid 4 tried to rectify the stuff with Liquid arm too by saying Ocelot was faking, but no, you want us to just forget we heard Liquid's voice coming out of Ocelot? Nope. Doesn't work that way. "Oh, well it was that way first but then--" WTF?
You know, it just seems to be a rite of passage for that to happen to players. It was 3am when I reached that part for the first time... good times.
Back around the time MGS2 came out I would play games for hours before going to sleep. When I reached the part where Campbell started acting strange and asking if I had anything better to do with my time I legitimately thought I was going insane.
On my computer as we speak. Loved it because it really kept the feel of the series. I agree that I wished they had animated the last few story arcs. I would have loved to see the one time Genma surprises everybody by actually creating an amazing martial arts style.
I'm kind of sad they never animated the last book. It would have made a good movie. Did you see the 13th OVA they made a few years ago for an anniversary of some sorts (I can't remember what the anniversary was for). It was strange seeing the updated animation. It wasn't half bad, though.
Oh man, I read the whole thing, its still my favorite Rumiko Takahashi series, though Rin-Ne is no slouch and I still have a soft spot for One-Pound Gospel and Maison Ikkoku.
Best credit scene. Did you ever read the manga? I started to when I ran out of episodes to watch.
My lack of direction is unfortunate in the real world but I don't mind, find some interesting places. I cosplayed as him for a number of years as well.
I have Ryoga Hibiki's sense of direction whenever I play open-world games. I also play a redhead online so I'm practically Ranma.
