Well we're studying some sound change in my class at the moment. I live in New Zealand and with our accent we're rapidly "losing" vowel sounds - so for example the words "beer", "bear", and "bare" all sound the same. It's interesting how it's changed from my grandparents' time, where everyone sounded vaguely British.
I'unno! What's something you find really cool about it?
What do you want to know???
Ooooh, that's dope! I have a personal passion for linguistics, and the psychology of language in general! TELL ME THINGSSSS
Linguistics. It's super interesting but a lot of work!
Oooh that's cool! What's the Masters in? I've got a couple of mates working full time and also studying for masters and doctorates. smurf that. xD
Ugh, tell me about it! I also got a new job that I'm really loving, and I've gone back to University to do my Masters degree, which is pretty cool but a lot of work! I'm just constantly tired, hahaha.
I am goooood! 2020 was an abysmal year, but therapy, friends, and drugs are each very wonderful things. I got a new job, which is nice. And have a couple of side hustles that I'm building out, which is great fun BUT STUPID ANNOYING AND STRESSFUL. What've you been up to? Aside from dodgy surgeries, obvs.
I am super well! How are you?
I would hope so, as a doctor! How in the world are you?
