  1. Ah, cool. VLR is pretty good, and a lot better than 999 on the technical side =P
  2. Well, there you go

Started Virtue's Last Reward, by the way, and I'm really enjoying it!
  3. But then there's the fact that they already had a kickstarter that grossed a little over half a million dollars. The vast majority of fans that want to support the release based on the CLANNAD name alone has already done so. By now newcomers probably make up a big portion of their future customers.

Either way, maybe I'm worrying too much. Steam is a very sale-based platform anyways so if they do a release sale and participate in other Steam sales it'll get more attention.
  4. But you know, when you think about it, it makes sense. If they assumed that their VN wouldn't pick up in the mainstream anyway (which is highly likely) and that fans would fork over any cash for it (like you said, you think it's worth it), it seems only logical that they want to make as much money as possible on fans rather than risk diving into the mainstream with a lower price.
  5. Exactly. Chances of someone picking it up without already knowing about it are basically nil.
  6. Yeah, it's not like VNs have any kind of mainstream appeal in the first place
  7. VisualArt's. Allegedly put the price of their flagship title and first major overseas release CLANNAD to $50. Well sure because that's going to be so inviting for newcomers innit?

Doesn't even matter that I think the game is easily worth that much, it's just gonna be a turn-off for a ton of people.
  8. Whom do you mean?
  9. It feels pretty bad, seeing one of your most beloved publishing companies massively shooting themselves in the foot.
  10. Alright, looking forward to it! ^^
