That will definitely cripple them. Give them lots of cancer. You gotta be careful not to get any on yourself, though.
It should keep most of them away. The only REAL way to get rid of them completely, though, it to totally cut off their breeding process. They are pretty much like cockroaches.
Maybe hydrochloric acid, then?
