Apparently being Australian is almost a surefire way to get served, especially by females. Turn on the charm and hey presto. Problem then arises when you go to places that apparently get "raided" I guess is the word by the police all the time. Laramie cops had naught better to do then go down to the pubs and sting people I guess.
i have been served as a minor more times than I care to admit to. half of the time if you present a passport as ID they'll be too confused as to what they are looking at and just give you a drink.
That was the only way I actually got drinks while I was in the US, except that one time where the old "oh I left my passport back in my room" trick worked.
