I imagine Mega Man X shook things up for the best. That was one of my favorite SNES games to play. I should pick it up again. Maybe this time I can get past the first level. Want to hear something weird? I played Mario on the Sega Genesis, and Sonic on the NES. IT'S CRAZY TOWN!
Largely yes, though there are attempts to mix the games up here and there. Mega Man 6 has the multiple armors, for instance, and 7 had an alternate one as well. Ultimately, however, the core has been relatively static since 3, so game quality comes down to the stages and bosses more than anything else. I just like to view all the games after the first one as expansion packs.
I really didn't play too much of any of them yet. I was mainly just testing them out to see if they would work. Though at a glance it looks like the series is guilty of what COD is always being criticized for. Basically being the same game over and over again.
What'd you think of the series post 3?
No. I just made my way up to Mega Man 6.
It's an interesting experience, that's for sure. There's a spiffy final set of stages that open after you complete the three games, so it might be worth checking out if you are playing through the original games. Did you happen to play Mega Man 9 and 10?
Playing Mega Man on Genesis just seems wrong somehow.
You should check out The Wily Wars on the Genesis. It's remakes of Mega Man 1, 2, and 3.
3 is my favorite. Genesis port for the fighting and movie game. Only SNES Power Rangers I got is the first one they made.
Mega Man 1 is one of my favorites in the series. Are you playing the NES versions or the Genesis ports?
