I was actually thinking the same thing! I might also randomize which space your eggs are gonna go in my box, and I might use another dice to actually determine which box they go to, so not all your box 1 Pokemon go to my box 1. I already labelled my tournament boxes "incubators", and I have four, just in case more people roll around. It's gonna be cool And yay for Volcarona! One of my favorites
The tourney is comprised of my favorites, Fynn. You can't expect all of your favorites there. I don't particularly care for Larvesta one way or another. I mean, it's ok, but it's nothing that screams "awesome". Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention: If I am happy with the hatched result, I reset the game anyway, then pick up the egg fresh. Guaranteed good eggs. It keeps your box from filling up with tons of useless Pokemon. Speaking of which, I have a lot of good Pokemon leftover from before I learned that trick. Also, I figured out how I'm going to transfer them. Three boxes full of eggs. I'll start with box one. I'll roll a standard six sided dice. Then I'll roll it again. First roll will be column, second will be row (with a reroll if I get a 6). I'll trade that egg for the first Pokemon in your PC. Move on to box two, do the same thing, trade it for the second Pokemon. Etcetera. Should get them all jumbled up, and if you distribute them randomly, it'll be even better. PS: Volcarona, on the other hand, is fantastic. So naturally Larvesta made it in. But no more revelations!
I'm really impressed you have the patience for that. I remember by own breeding escapade. Didn't do nearly as much as you, but I still grew kinda tired of it. By the way, is Larvesta in the tournament?
The child always has a 60% chance of keeping the ability of the mother (or the non-Ditto parent in a Ditto-breeding pair). With every Pokémon I'm breeding for this, I'm keeping an eye on the Ability. If it's one I actually think is worthwhile, I'll save before grabbing the egg (the RNG for egg generation is actually set quite a bit in advance, so it'll be the same egg even if I leave it there and go beat the Elite Four 20 times before I pick it up). Then I hatch the egg, see if it has the Ability, and if it doesn't, I reset, reject the egg, and try again. Hidden Abilities are a little more rare than regular. Because, if it's not the inherited mother's ability, there's a 50% chance that it's one of the two Abilities that the Pokémon can have normally (unless the Pokémon only has one Normal Ability). So those odds are: Mother's - 60%. Ability A - 20%. Ability B - 20%. If the Mother's Ability IS Ability A, then your odds are: Ability A - 80%. Ability B - 20%. But a Hidden Ability will never be more than 60% chance to be passed down. Since reloading gets me the same egg, I'll know that Pokémon has the particular Ability I want it to have. Even so, this goes much faster than my standard breeding. Because NORMALLY, it has to have the Ability I want, it has to be female (I basically only use female Pokémon out of a weird OCD habit stretching back to Gen II), which SUCKS for Eevee and starters, which are mostly male, BTW. It also needs the right IV pairings. Assuming that I'm using two hex-flawless parents (which I wouldn't be, because if I had a hex flawless parent, I'm already done, this is just absolute best case scenario), that's another 1/6 chance to pass down the correct five IVs. So, for my Espeon... 1/6 chance for correct IV. 3/5 chance for Hidden Ability. 1/8 chance for correct gender. Not fun.
So, there's a reliable way to transfer hidden abilities?
Alright then, I'll leave it in.
That's awesome! A Bidoof like that seems much less lame, and gets turned into this sort of wild card - I love it!
At the end of every turn, it reduces one of your stats by 1 stage, and boosts another stat by 2 stages. The stats chosen are completely random, and can be anything, including accuracy and evasion. There is no way to control it, and no real way to stop or counter it. Let's say you had a physical attacker. You could, for example, get Special Attack down by 1, just as if you were Captivated, and then get Evasion boosted by 2, just as though you used Minimize. Which sucks for the person you're facing, because now they can't hit you. And you didn't even have to use a move, it just happens at the end of every turn. Or you could get Accuracy -1, as though you'd been hit by Sand Attack, and then get Special Attack +2, as though you had used Nasty Plot. And suddenly you can't hit anything but your Special Attack is through the roof! That happens EVERY TURN. Hence why it's banned from competition. It can be silly, since it is just complete randomness (much like Metronome), but it can also be really broken. Before it was banned, there were Bibarels sweeping Ubers.
This is a silly little tournament, so I'd keep it. ... What does it do, exactly?
Should I allow Moody or not? There are two Pokémon who are showing up in the egg pool who can have that ability. It's the secret ability for both. It's banned competitively, but this is just for fun. I can get rid of it or keep it easily enough, just not sure which to do. It can be really annoying, but it can also be really silly. Advice please.
