No! You must stay forever! I got married and fathered twins while you were away
I have for the moment.
you have returned
Yeah pretty much.
Oh I see, kind of like Ni No Kuni in a way!
VIII is the other heavy story driven entry. It's not bad either even if it's gameplay is a step down from VII. DQV let's you recruit monsters which forms your party so you can get the classic Slime or Dragon as teammates. It's fun trying to collect them all and the large playable roster makes for real fun gameplay.
Oh, I see. That's interesting! I have IX for my DS and sharky has VIII for the PS2. I tried VIII but british accents give me a headache (this isn't me being snobby, they actually do) and so I didn't really get very far :/
I find the series to be a bit flat in terms of story and characters. It's charming and fun but nothing to really stick with you. It's more about the adventure than the characters and the plot is largely an excuse plot. Even the games that try to buck the trend eventually degrade into you being a group of faceless warriors traveling the countryside fixing every towns or kingdoms current problem. I could handle it if I was simply to take my character as an avatar only but the games often try to evoke character turmoil and it falls flat cause so little time has gone into developing the characters or the moment. I guess FF just kind of spoiled me.
How come you aren't a big DQ (Dragon Quest, not Dairy Queen) fan? I've never played more than like 30 minutes of one, so I don't know much about the series
Yeah. he's the hardest version of him, though you get a special ending if you beat him.
