I've never played a strategy rpg. I got the impression that FFXII too disguised its holes with "subtleties" and fanciness. The translation was looking pretty wonky too - only 1 minute in and I counted about 4 things weird with it . But we'll see...I might not even be able to play it before summer break ends, and when school starts who knows if I'd even be able to play once a month, let alone finish a game :-\
Don't get FFTactics unless you really like Strategy-RPGs and the way they work. If not, don't bother. It takes 84592 hours to finish and pretends to have a complex plot by throwing lots of names at you that no human mind can remember in one play-through.
