Conversation Between Fynn and Skyblade

  1. Not yet, but my brother might be getting one for Christmas, so at least Ill get to enjoy it occasionally. We might get one of our own one day too, if we're rich I still need it, so I can play Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Also, they actually did an episode of "Did You Knoe Gaming" about Pokemon and religion which I found out about just after telling you about the Satanist bit. Apparently, there was a statement made by the Vatican, that Pokemon are okay. Still, a pretty interesting episode that I recommend.
  2. Well, the Pope did recently make a statement about evolution not being against Church doctrine (duh, several of the people who fleshed out the idea were priests, it's never been a problem). So that aspect is at least gone.

But feel free to move over here. Just going to work will pick me up at least a half dozen people using Streetpass.

Do you have a Wii U?
  3. Oh, I'm far from having a problem with that, since I really love Shimomura and I can't blame anyone for using her as inspiration (heck, I used to do that back when I still composed stuff).

You know, I really envy you guys in the States. Well, anywhere outside of Poland, actually. Handhelds are not a thing at a here. Especially the Nintendo ones. I'd be hard presses to find someone besides my brother and cousin that has a 3DS, so I never really got to utilize all its features, and no one really plays Pokemon here (not only is it considered kiddy, but it has a stigma of being "satanist" - yeah, there was a big scare back when I was in grade school). I might get to experience some of that once I go to the annual local convention, but still, I'm sad I do t have anyone besides my wife and brother to share my fandoms with here. This place really is pretty limiting in that regard.

Still, Christmas can't come soon enough and I'm really, really excited about finally getting to play ORAS
  4. It does, and I don't really have a problem with that. Though I'll have to see how well it fits the actual Delta Episode when I get there.
  5. Hmm... Well, at least that solves that. It's still pretty eerie. It sounds exactly like her work.
  6. I just looked up the staff credits for ORAS. No mention of Yoto Shimomura either under "Music", or "Special Thanks". So I think it's a safe bet that it wasn't her work. I don't think she'd go completely uncredited. It is very similar to her style, though.
  7. Anyone who calls them "lazy" doesn't know what the word meant. They're often incredibly detailed, and include a lot of really neat design elements. I actually prefer them to some of the full 3D trainer models that are in the game. I do wish they had found a way to get some animation in for them, but overall, it's really strong artwork. They also made entirely new images for ORAS, and plenty of them look even better (like the Ace Trainers).
  8. Oh, and I think I've seen those pictures. I've seen a lot of those trainer edits, Zelda-themed mostly. They're pretty cool

I watched a review of X and Y by a Polish guy yesterday, and he hailed it as revolutionary compared to the previous titles, but said that the cut-out portraits for trainers were "lazy". Idk, I always prefer good stylization and a 2D-3D mix, and while X and Y was a pretty big leap forward, so was Black and White, which actually laid a lot of the groundwork for X and Y. I sometimes feel people feel too hung-up on graphics, and when something makes the jump to 3D, they exaggerate how "revolutionary" it is.
  9. Oh, sure thing! How nice of you to ask

The Path to Eden is actually the one thing that I'm focusing my efforts now. The Hippolyte and Griff thing will have to wait, because for some reason, this is the piece that "writes itself" nowadays. I'm not fully satisfied with all the chapters, and the idea has shifted from loosely connected stories to a full novel somewhere in the process, so the final version of this that I will be trying to publish will probably be heavily rewritten.
  10. I can't link images from my computer into Visitor Messages or PMs, so I don't have any way to show it to you unless I can find an excuse to make a full forum post/thread about it. And I can't find the source to link to directly because I got it through a redirect from a message myself. But it's awesome.

Essentially, someone edited the Ace Trainer battle sprites from ORAS into Robin and Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening. It's an utterly gorgeous piece of art, and incredibly detailed (it even includes Lucina's Brand).

Also, could you message me with your writing threads? I haven't had time to look through the writing forum, and getting them linked to me would make it much easier to check them out on my phone.
