Conversation Between Fynn and Karifean

  1. I kind of wished I hadn't seen the anime before playing the game, as I knew that twist was coming, but I still think the game was better anyway, so

Also, you know about DG3, right? Apparently, the new game will be a completely separate story, but the story arc from the first two games will be concluded in an anime. Which is weird.
  2. On the contrary, I'd say being endlessly uncertain about whether or not that information I'd gotten was fake or not would've killed my enjoyment entirely. But now I'll be fine I think, especially since I don't expect this to be the only twist in the game or anything, and I literally didn't see anything else. Plus I've gotten plenty of enjoyment out of spoiled games before, like Trials and Tribulations. It's similar to how I enjoy a reread more than a first read. You can see how it all comes together, and that's no less fun than seeing it unfold for the first time IMO :P

But yeah, those goddamn late arrival spoilers indeed ^^
  3. Those God-damn late arrival spoilers
  4. Never, ever do that

Unless you read more deeply into it, I still think there's room for surprise, so hopefully you can get some enjoyment out of it
  5. Ah that's nice. I was wondering how the hell you were supposed to get the achievement for filling up "all" of the school report entries.

For a while I actually ended up wondering if I was the victim of a massive internet troll regarding the actual villain, because I did pay attention that scene and saw no way for it to be fake, buuuut because uncertainty would've been the *most* miserable option I just typed that name into Google and, well, it took less than 2 seconds to confirm the validity of the information =P
  6. Oh right, if you're worried about the sim element, after you beat the game you unlock "school mode", which is basically the same game minus the murders, so you can just chat with everyone.
  7. Yeah, that trial was kind of a bummer. I actually really like the atmosphere of this game. The strange humor and feel of entertainment just clashes so nicely with the despair theme. It's pretty artful, IMO. And I like how original the style of the character designs is, even if a lot of them have basically the same face.

As for the trial gameplay - you'll get used to it. It's a shame the sequel isn't out on Steam yet because gameplay-wise, Goodbye Despair picks up right where the first game left off, so you'll be starting with more truth bullets, and overall the first trial in the second game is arguably harder than the final trial in the first game.

Also, Danganronpa has two endings, a good and bad one. I assume you'll want to see both, but I have one piece of advice if you want to go the true ending route - at some point, you will just have to trust a certain person, against all odds.
  8. Annnnd that's the second chapter done. Byakuya you son of a bitch =P Gotta be honest I don't really *like* the gameplay in the trials, but it's not too intrusive so far and I do enjoy watching the story unfold. Didn't expect this person to end up being one of the killers. Really didn't expect it to be them either until it was made obvious, though I'm glad I was able to call just about all the other details of the crime.
  9. Welp, done with the first trial. That sure was a series of minigames. I died once because I didn't quite get the controls for the rhythm game and just kept pressing one mouse key instead of alternating. And that alone cost me the go-through-a-trial-without-dying achievement. Can't deny I'm a little salty >.<
  10. Just got to the first murder. I've been in anticipation for a good while now =P Too bad I only realized where to get presents after I'd already spent all the free time I had.
