Conversation Between Fynn and Wolf Kanno

  1. Well, here's hoping we both succeed in our goals this year
  2. I'm either going to start my occult detective story or finish (I'm like two pages in) a romance story I started awhile ago. I tried doing my longer novel last time and that didn't really work out so well cause I overthought everything and kept falling behind on my word counts. I figured doing something fresh would work better.
  3. So how do you plan to go about NaNo, if at all? I'm actually seriously thinking of trying it this year so that I can actually force myself to move my novel along. Not sure if I should stick to the regular 50k word count and then add the rest after NaNo or if I should extend it to the 80-90k that my novel is supposed to be and just make myself write every day.
  4. That's a shame, it was easily one of my favorite parts of DQVII. Then chances are, the last mini-medals are attached to the optional boss. Unless it changed, the shard the Mini-Medal king gives you is for one of the two optional dungeons in the game, so I wouldn't sweat it.
  5. I'm not sure that's still in this version. Gathering people for the Haven involves seeking out specific people (who are actually reformed monsters) that the last person you found tells you about.
  6. If memory serves me correctly, I don't think you can even collect them all until the post game. You collect some of the shards to unlock one of the optional dungeons and the last few are there. The other issue might be the town minigame, cause I'm pretty sure there are mini-medals in all of them.

I know you played a simple version of it in IV and I'm not sure if VI had one but in VII, the town's final form is based on the type of people you've collected from it and there are four different outcomes with various initiatives for going for all of them. The basic huge town was the easiest to get but the other three required having a majority of themed residents. Farmers and livestock net you a giant farm where you can buy some of the best restorative items that are unavailable anywhere else. Nuns and priests net you a giant Cathedral where you get some awesome Holy items for purchase, and the final involves collecting dancers, thieves, and criminals to create a giant slum that houses the largest and final casino in the game where you can try your hand at getting the Metal Slime gear and other one of a kind items.
  7. Ooh, now we're gonna have to duel someday I'm gonna need to brush up my skills a bit, but with you perhaps I'll finally have a worthy Theatrhythm opponent!

You're almost there, though! I know the Karma Temple is long, but it's one dungeon. Just a little longer and you'll get there!

As for my DQ adventure, I have Sir Mervyn in my party, and the current composition is: Gladiator (Auster), Champion (Ruff), Martial Artist (Sir Mervyn) and Druid (Maribel). Mervyn's already mastered Mage and Warrior and the first intermediate class he's gonna take on is the Armamentalist and the class really looks awesome on him. Also, now that I have the flying carpet, I collected a crapload of fragments, which means that there is no clear sequence in which I'm supposed to be visiting the areas now. The first one I did was the one with the golden Goddess statue. That was pretty cool and bittersweet. I'm also a bit worried I won't manage to get al the mini medals for King Maximo. I heard you need 100 of them to get the fragment he has, but I only have 55 so far and I am very much afraid I've missed some hidden ones
  8. I may have just erred in my gaming plans. I was hoping to finish up 4 Heroes of Light and move onto DQIX, but I was checking out a store going out of business and they had freaking Theatrythm Curtain Call brand new for about $10 and it's been on my wish list for awhile. So, picked that up and started tonight, but now I'm afraid I may have banished 4 Heroes of Light back into the backlog.

In my DDS news, I'm heading up Karma Tower and just beat down Jatayu and Garuda. Sera is not making this easier, and while the puzzle elements are amusing, I kind of wish the dungeon wasn't so damn long. I'm starting to get dungeon fatigue thanks to the damn Samsara tunnels and the optional bosses.
  9. Yeah it might, I think my issue was that I was trying to get all of the inheritance skills so I was still meandering around with the beginner classes.
  10. I hope it helps that I'm at my intermediate vocations now
