  1. Make money, save money. Sounds like a win-win to me.
  2. I'll run it by the missus, I'm sure she wouldn't have any complaints.
  3. You know you could probably get the guitar if you sold your kid to science. Just saying.
  4. You keep it civil Booba!
  5. It is indeed awesome man. Only gets better as it goes along.

I don't have time to go searching for it right now, but there's a video on YouTube where a dude details how he built a flying V uke out of mostly plywood on YouTube. I'm going to do one for a buddy of mine, but it seemed a lot simpler than building a guitar as I recall. Plus the materials are pretty cheap.

I'll look it up when I get the chance and send you the link.
  6. I think I've found the reason that we never talk. It's because I'm an ignorant prick who doesn't reply. Sorry man.

I might start with a uke when I come to build. Surely it's less work! I got obsessed with the uke about five years ago when I started listening to Jake Shimabukuro. The guy is ridiculous. I made it my mission to learn his version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I've pretty much got it spot on now though it isn't quite as accomplished as his version! Think I'll take it up to Glasgow with me for the UK EoFF meet... along with my guitar, obviously!

I'm loving Mass Effect 2 at the minute. It's so much more polished than the original. Plus, the story and the environments (especially the environments!) were improved so much. I've hardly scratched the surface as well so I'm really excited for what's to come! Since getting the Normandy back I've only seen Omega but man... I reckon the rest is gonna be awesome!
  7. Teething sounds awful. Then again, parenthood in general sounded awful which is why I made with the snippity snip. Nothing against kids or those who can pull off the parenting thing but it is not for me. I'll stick to cats.

Not too much new with me. Making more progress on guitar stuff since I lost my job last month. Kind of chipping away a bit everyday. I'd like to say I spend hours working on this stuff everyday but it's too damn hot in the garage right now. Still, I'm close to having my first proper neck joint done and am just going to keep plowing through. Making my first neck out of a $15 piece of maple I had since it's less expensive than the $100 piece of indian rosewood I have for my guitar neck. I'll do the maple one ukulele sized so I can use it for a uke a friend wants me to build him.

Other than that I just plowed through the entire Mass Effect trilogy in the last month. I'd played the first years ago but never any of the others. I'm not the biggest bioware fan and I just thought the first was all right, but the second was on Steam for $5 and I was curious. Next thing I know I've finished them all in the time between roughly when you finished Saren off and when you met up with Tali in ME2 best I can figure. Unemployment leaves one with a lot of time to kill. You'll enjoy the second and third a lot if you loved the first though. The ending in 3 is a bit weak but overall it's still probably better than the first one and close to the second in quality. I'm glad I decided to give the series a second chance.
  8. Baby Bubba is teething quite badly which is causing sleepless nights for his mother. She's unfortunately a really light sleeper and I sleep like the dead. I've been doing what I can though. I get up at 6am so I can look after him before I go to work and give Sophie a lie-in. She has ME (not Mass Effect) as well so she get's tired very quickly. We're managing though. Baby Bubba is quite the character!

I'm heading to Glasgow in a couple of weeks to stay with Matt and Shauna for the unofficial UK EoFF meetup. Can't wait!

I'm still admiring your posts on the guitar-building thread. Sorry if I'm not saying much but it looks very complicated! I may use the guides you posted before I attempt it with Baby Bubba. I can see quite a few failures to start with!

What else is new with you?
  9. So how's mini Bubba? We never talk.
  10. You thought right! The second warning was enough for me not to look again though. If you feel like it though, fill your boots with some more!

By the time I reach the end of ME3, probably next year the speed I'm playing it, I'll probably have forgotten anyway
