  2. Yeah, very true. When you bring it back to individual people, it's quite a nice day where we can remember those around us who are out there or have been out there or lost their lives. It's always horrible to hear about those young men and women serving now who get killed; I can't even imagine the heartache and devastation of being involved in full blown war time, where boys are trundled off to nowhere and never come back. Super emotional times. I am always super stoked to see the old vets playing Two-Up though. I have no idea why that is illegal the rest of the year, it seems like a really neat game. They were also playing some weird dice game at my local RSL today. So much history and culture is locked off to us except for today which is really weird.
  3. Pretty much true. I try to just think about the people I know who were involved (so, my grandfather), and leave it at that after humanizing the situation and trying to make it bigger than poppies or a ten dollar lunch.
  4. It can sometimes feel a bit dodgy to celebrate our involvement in things we probably shouldn't have been involved in, but by the same token, it infuriates me that there are people like the women I saw at the RSL club showing up like they were heading out to a nightclub. Can't we respect the services of our service men and women without being rubbish people. I think the best way we can honour our fallen and returned troops is by not sending their kids and grandkids and great grandkids into stupid profiteering wars. Let's do the right thing. /pseudo patriotism
  5. *fistbump* we will remember them.
  6. Bah! that means yes ^_^;;;
  7. I cannot confirm nor deny your claim.
  8. All rest is easy when it is to serve Fin-Del Castro!
  9. Rest easy, comrade!
  10. Goodnight, may we serve the Brotherhood in good stead tomorrow
