  1. It had a pretty snazzy audio come to think of it. I take it you've been playing some classic Ys?
  2. Kinda fascinated atm with how good the PC Engine / TurboGrafx CD OST quality was way back around 1990.
  3. I understand all too well about distractions. I think the easiest thing to do is simply find the simplest and easiest thing you need to do and start there. Usually for me, I'll get on a roll of productivity if I start like that. Same with exercise. I also try to avoid certain websites nowadays that I know are pointless for me, or in cases like EoFF, I convince myself to only reply to interesting threads or comments and then check out for the day. Struggling with the last one, but I'm at least getting better about noticing when I linger on the forum despite a lack of activity.

My blood pressure is fine, it was more a figure of speech. Though it does run in my family, so mine could be pretty high for my age and lifestyle.
  4. Well getting used to my new daily rhythm. Progress on free time projects is slow as a result, but not at a standstill either. Still having the problem of wasting a lot of time in distractions on the more pointless sides of the net though I suppose >.<

Have fun on that vacation ^^ events like that can be pretty good at inspiring some change at least. Though now I am wondering a bit, do you have chronic blood pressure issues or something along those lines?
  5. I might be able to relate to that, but I usually try to stay clear of things like that for the sake of my nerves and blood pressure. I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated.

I'm doing okay, trying and losing a fight to stay on a schedule to be more productive. I keep piling on distractions. Have a minor vacation coming up, so I'm hoping a change of scenery and seeing some old college friends will improve my state of mind.

How about you, other than the frustration part?
  6. Man. You know that feeling when you engage in things that you know make you seriously angry and you know you won't be able to do anything about and puts you in a dark spot and yet you can't find the words to even properly articulate what's happening? Well maybe that's just me >.<

    How've you been doing lately?
  7. Those types of videos help me out sometimes, but I'm usually so picky nowadays that I tend to be more selective. My issue comes from a gotta catch them all mentality so I'll find a new series I like and then proceed to pick up the whole franchise. Kind of the reason I haven't been jumping into Legend of Heroes or some other recommendations that come my way.
  8. Yeah I see. I guess that's where something like a Top Games list or analysis video or passionate blog post or whatever is actually pretty handy since those can nicely convince you to pick up a game you've had on your (metaphorical) shelf for a long time. I at least typically need that kind of immediate motivation if I'm to actually dive into a new game >.<
  9. I get that, and that's why I do regularly replay my older games. My issue is that I binged bought too many games in the past, and I'm having buyers remorse because I haven't even touched any of these games "I just had to have". For the most part, its why I'm trying my best to not buy anything new until I start chipping away at the pile first.
  10. Hmm, well I get what you mean, though I'd consider just consuming games out of a sense of obligation to be similarly problematic. I do agree that it starts at binge sale buying, but it goes beyond that. It's how I used to go over visual novels back when I was big into them, basically just "wanting to have played/consumed them", and in hindsight I feel like I can hardly claim to have even played them at all.

Dunno, I just feel like there's something to be said for qualitative enjoyment, over quantitative. If you can get an incredible amount out of one game that's seriously valuable IMO, and probably moreso than having just consumed two or three additional games or something. Not that I'm against playing new games either of course, but you know. There's a lot of value in just thinking and feeling about one or a few games so much that you can endlessly talk about them, discuss their ideas, their qualities and shortcomings, etc.
