So now that I’ve decided to slow down with games a bit again, I kind of caught the Pokémon bug again. I’m finishing up the Pokémon Black post game and then I want to really sink my teeth into Heart Gold and Black 2 because I feel I didn’t spend as much time on those two games as they deserve, as they’re easily the two most content-rich games in the series. I’m especially looking forward to the Battle Frontier in HG and Pokémon World Tournameny in B2 as they’re two special modes that have you approach the games very differently. Plus, the latter has you fight all the gym leaders and champions that existed up to that point. One annoying thing about Black is that there’s this 20-level gap between the end of the main campaign and the rest of the post-game, so now I’m basically grinding :/ To be fair, a lot of the generation 5 Pokémon evolve super late- like in their fifties and sixties late - so at least I have some cool evolutions to look forward to.
That's kind of what happened to me during my playthrough. Why I decided to skip over Yiazmat cause I knew he wasn't going to be fun at all.
So I fought Zodiark for an hour and died and now I’m pretty burnt out. I’ think I’ll jist finish the game now and do the side content some other time
The issue is that AtL2 always has new side stuff to do. I finished the section reached the next area and all new side stuff opened up. So I'm taking a break and diving into CC now cause I'm not going to fight my urge, though I will hold off CT until I finish Tactics Ogre, but I'm kind of burnt out on that game as well.
Xenogears sounds good. I’ve been debating on a CC playthrough myself, but never felt that strong a pull. Not to mention I want to slow down with games a bit after I finish TZA so I can focus on creative stuff. Sounds pretty cumbersome, but it’s good that you finally got that hunt out of the way. That feeling when you’re done with the side content and can proceed with the main plot is pretty great
I'm mostly playing CT for the DS extras cause Chrono Cross is what I really want to play. I should do Xenogears afterwards, it's been ages since I completed a playthrough. For Arc the Lad 2, I just finished White House, finally got that one Mark to fight me, cause I needed to have reached White House and then backtrack to meet him. This eliminates all of the available Mark Hunts for me at the moment. Now I just wish I could find some decent new weapons for my party.
Oh yeah, I might just try Zodiark with him as well. Thanks for the tip! I’ll try to find the white robes to maximize the Excalibur’s potential and maybe it won’t be too bad. And yeah, you’re nearing the end from what I remember, so you can play CT soon I’m lucky in that I replayed it fairly recently so I don’t get that itch right now!
If Fafnir is all that's left at the moment, then the rest won't unlock until the Pharos is complete. I'd recommend beating Zodiark while you still have Reddas, especially since his Holy/Arise spells come in handy for the fight. Also, in Tactics Ogre news, I reunited with Denam's sister. I'm hoping I'm not too far from the end soon cause all this Chrono talk lately has me itching to go through the games again, and I think I'll give the DS version another spin for CT since it has the new content that tries to bridge some plot elements from CC. I may also see if I can finally play Radical Dreamers.
Oh yeah, I definitely want to do them while I have Reddas. I just need to get a bit higher on the Pharos. Get some cool spells, some gear, levels, etc. Also, for now Fafnir is the only hunt left available, aside from the hunt club that I have yet to start, so I’m guessing I need to progress a bit higher up the tower to unlock more hunts.
I gave up, I have a feeling I need to advance the plot somewhat before I can face him. I might actually see if just backtracking once I've reached White House will do anything. On the brightside, I was able to raise my monster party members levels up a bit. My new goal is to finally see if I can ind a gun for the character Shu, cause they're his best weapon options. I don't remember Fafnir being too bad honestly. I think King Behemoth gave me more trouble and even then, it was basically just needing to roll in a support unit character to keep the team buffed. Of anything, I would advise trying to complete as many Mark Hunts and optional battles now while you still have Reddas with you.
