  1. Hiiiiiiiiii~!
  2. Just keep in mind, only the first movie really is reasonably faithful to the series. Later on it goes completely off the rails and it is awesome, especially if you're familiar with how things went down in the original.
  3. Ah, I haven't seen Rebuild yet. As for myself, Evangelion never quite managed to captivate me. While it does have its moments it was mostly just... a solid, good series, but nothing more than that. Doesn't help that the plot has some tropes I rather dislike. I might check out Rebuild at some point, I have a friend who's a rather big fan of the original series, maybe we can watch it together.
  4. Well, I watched it in middle school, so I certainly didn't have the expectations and knowledge that I have now, so I liked it a lot and it certainly gave me a taste for the darker side of storytelling. Nowadays, I think Rebuild is a much better treatment of the material with a much more interesting take on the continuity.
  5. Hey if you like standing out, that hair sure is memorable =P

In general though I think Muv-Luv Extra was trying to hit every. single. cliché. of galge visual novels that were popular around that time. And weird hair is naturally one of those Not that it bothers me personally anyways, I'm pretty desensitized to it =P

Back on the topic of Evangelion though, did it live up to your expectations when you watched it?
  6. Yeah, i mean, i started watching it late as well, but after reading up on it, I can see how it was a play on people's expectations. If I remember correctly, they did actually air it in the kids' show timeslot initially. Of course, that had to change soon enough.

And how do you even style it that way? Who thought this looked good?
  7. Ah now I see; when I think Evangelion I don't really think of the downward spiral since - comparatively speaking - it never really was all that light and familiar. I guess being decades too late works against me there, heh.

Not a fan of star hair, are you? :P
  8. Well, now that I've watched it, I'd still say it looks like Moe Evangelion

I mean, I don't just mean the mecha. More the feel of something light and familiar (dating sim/super giant robot anime) later becoming darker (an apocalypse of some kind/uhhhhhh.... where do I even begin...). Though it does appear that some mecha designs take cue from Evas. Plus, plugsuits?

But I am soooo not digging the art design. The hair. Star hair. Why.
  9. Sorry, just glanced at it as I'm at work. I'll check it out with sound later. But some visual cues are there
  10. Haha well I guess that's a valid interpretation =P
