Too late - TESO already messed with a lot of the lore (Oblivion did too actually)
They might rewrite the whole lore or add it elements such as time travel just so they can squeeze the franchise dry. I really hope there will be an elder scrolls 6 which I can travel the whole world like in Arena.
TESO is set long before Skyrim (which was set in the Fourth Era) and even before Morrowind and Oblivion (which were set in the Third Era) - TESO is set in the Second Era!
I heard it happened before Skyrim!! But most likely they will just spoil the lore for the sake of money like what happened to Warcraft.
