I can't tell for sure yet, since the game isn't out over here yet. But I personally don't think any tactics should be banned, and I personally don't find sucide tactics cheap since: 1) They usually make you lose a stock as well. 2) They can be avoided in most cases. The idea is to make this a tournament that, while being largely skill-based (most likely no items, but possibly Smash Balls set on "very low" if enough people wants it), it shouldn't be as restricted as most high level tournaments are. For example, there will be no stage-banning. And for that purpose, banning certain tactics would just seem stupid, even if they could be considered cheap tactics.
I'm wondering who'll win in that tournament... So are cheap tactics allowed? Like Kirby/Dedede suicide tactics where you suck someone in and jump off the level with them?
I think they should be able to change after every match. It should be the standard: a set of "best out of 3", where the loser in the previous match gets to change his/her character if he/she wants and pick the next stage. At least, I personally think that's both the most fun and fair way to do it. Also, utilizing the stage builder could be an idea. Before the tournament starts ,there could be a "stage building tournament", in which people get to post pics and descriptions of their own custom made stages, and then people get to vote on which 3 out of those stages that should be used in the tournament etc.
That tournament sounds like an awesome idea. Are we making people stick with one character or can they change it after every match?
I'm actually planning on arranging an EoFF online tournament eventually. But I have to give everyone time to buy Brawl and win all the characters they wish to use first, though.

Okay, maybe I won't. It's Marth and the Ice Climbers. I know a lot of people say that the Ice Climbers aren't good but that's because they don't take the time to become good with them.
Ike or Marth, Ike or Marth? Or will I once again use good, old Ganon as my main? Or maybe I'll actually end up using Metaknight or R.O.B? Argh! Why can't they just release the damn game over here nooooooooow?
I plan to keep that a secret until I face you on Wi-Fi. Marth's Final Smash does have a few drawbacks though. If you use it on the ground he'll only go to the edge and won't attack anyone further than that. Use it in the air and if nothing is in front of you he flies off the screen. But I admit that 60% Damage and a really good chance of KOing even the heaviest characters at 0% (like Bowser) makes Link's and Ike's Final Smashes look pathetic. No offense.
Marth's FS looks disgustingly overpowered.
