  1. Regardless, slightly gimping the demon I'm sending at my party, I've still got a strong hand to play against them.

That hand includes Mass Hold Person, and Life Stealing gaze (A 30ft radius effect that grants a negative level).

I have managed to drain off my clerics highest end heal spells prior to the following encounter, and nearly killed a few PC's multiple times the past two encounters. We shall see if this will be enough to kill off another!
  2. Figured as much.
  3. PFt, it was only for two weeks for something that was totally stupid. ;P
  4. Oh goody you are not banned for years.
  5. Up to a seven man group in my game.

This is going to get hard to keep things challenging, without guaranteeing a party murder. I really don't think the Challenge rating system is made to handle parties this large.
  6. ...Except Tremersense may not overcome the concealment. Or it possibly could depending on who you ask.

smurf Fog cloud, this may end up causing more debate then it's worth.
  7. Okay, so the Druid they were chasing after to get here in the first place will finally come up next. (He's kind f a small fry in the greater scheme of things, so now is a good time to let the party kill him so that plot thread isnt' dangling longer then it needs too.)

I have him set up with a Giant Scorpian Animal Companion, and he has the Fog Cloud Spell. Since his Scorpion has Tremersense, it is immune to the spells effects, where as none of my party are, so while the Giant Scorpion doesn't have a high AC, they are now fighting it with a 20% miss chance from Melee, and 50% with ranged attacks.

Now lets say the Scorpion is either still alive after eight rounds when the spell breaks, or the sorcerer has a gust of wind handy. The Summon natures Ally that will be up by then can cast Blur once a day, once again granting him a 20% miss chance. And once a day from both me and the summoned Ally there is a Wind Wall. This is all mostly to see if I can bate my Ranger (Whose first character was the Barbarian who blindly charged in and died via flanking bears) to take a position away from the healer to try to get some shots in on the druid. (Who, regardless, can cast his couple good damaging spells without the Wind Wall or Fog Cloud hindering him.)

    This should be fun.
  8. Three people nearly died in my party at the very end.

There may have been no actual deaths, but I feel at this point my players know what to expect from the rest of this game after that.

    Now my real fun begins.
  9. That is a pretty massive dungeon to get that kind of XP.
  10. Bah, two players didn't show up Monday, one of which was the Cleric, who is kind of nescessary for this fight. (No way my party can survive down the rouge and cleric).

Oh well, I guess they will have to fight Clockwork Megaraptor and Warmonger Devil come this next Monday.

Oh, and just to detail how big this dungeon was, they were all just fourth level starting. This one dungeon put a six man party 500XP short from their next level. (I'm just granting that last bit of XP for basically completeing and finding everything.)
