Indeed. I'm going to get her another potato for Valentine's Day this year, but this time I'll actually give an explanation for it. Last year I tried making a bet that I could convince her that the potato was the greatest Valentine's Day gift she had ever received, with the intention of setting the stakes so that we'd end up going on some sort of date regardless of whether I won or lost the bet... but she never agreed to the bet, the conditions for the bet were never made, and the potato went unexplained. (And, of course, I'll give her something more than just the potato. Maybe this. And some chocolates.)

And just a couple of weeks ago she said that I was "so far in the friendzone that I owned property there - a nice ranch house with a big yard, surrounded by a white picket fence." My response to that was basically "Challenge accepted," since the friendzone doesn't really exist anyway
