  1. Oh, I'll get on that! Yeah, Discord isn't as fast-paced as you may think. It can be sometimes. We have sub chats for different things too so you can just hang in FF and vidya or if you want to talk about shows you can stay in the lounge. It's still active enough you'll get replies though
  2. Oh, now you're trying to guilt me are you? That might work if I had a heart.

I might join up before I start seriously considering making second and third accounts so I can have someone to talk to on the forums. Also, you need to send me a mognet message for my census. I only have one girl entry so far.
  3. yeah okay.

They just were lamenting in discord how they think you'd be a great person to chat with there and it was a shame you wouldn't come grace us with your presence.

  4. You know I don't do well in social situations. It took my mother years to convince me that spitting in someones face wasn't a good sign of affection.
  5. i'm here to peer pressure you into joining discord
  6. hey you
  7. hey
  8. Yeah, I did the contests for the sake of forcing me to finish things within a time frame, which is my usual problem. I don't expect to win or anything, but it felt good to finally send something in at least.

Rejection can be hard, but it's par the course for this industry. Get thick skin and keep plugging it. I'm sure you'll find someone who will love it.
  9. It's a fantasy novel! A multiple POV one. It's about a frozen world where people have to hunt down and then sacrifice dragons for warmth. So my crew goes on an adventure and finds out there's more corruption and whatnot than they were told. Fun stuff.

Yeah I just said, smurf it, I like this, others enjoyed it, let's just send it out! Still hard to get form rejections though. Specially when you just put so much of yourself into it. I haven't done anything for contests but I probably should, maybe it'll help me get through some of this stuff with agents.
  10. Oi, sorry to hear that, but I've been there myself where I was unemployed for that long. Its not fun, though I did get a lot of writing done in that time frame.

Glad to hear you finished a novel and you've sent it out. Good luck on that front, I hope you succeed and maybe kill two birds with one stone with the whole unemployment deal. What's your novel about?

I just submitted a flash non-fiction for a contest and I have three other works almost ready as well, but I'm not sure if I have anything truly ready to send to a publisher yet. I keep starting and stopping the habit of writing every day due to life throwing me punches, but finally getting something sent off did revitalize my desire to stick with a routine.
