  1. Yeah we can do some FF related talks unless you had something else in mind.
  2. We'll see. I still have a playthrough of FM3 and 4 I need to finish as well.
  3. Ooh, maybe if you beat it first, I’ll actually have the motivation to finally beat Front Mission myself?
  4. Ha, you got farther than I did for my Let's Play, course that goes by slowly since I'm also checking guides and stuff for the walkthrough part.

Nier is hardly what I would call a high octane action game, but I've been spoiled by DMC and more skilled fair like Bloodborne and Sekiro. I never found the combat terribly impressive and I actually preferred playing as 9S since he can hack enemies and turn the gameplay into a bullet hell mini-game which was often way more fun for me to play as. I think you'll be fine.

I'm not terribly sold on Cyber[punk as well, but I also do love the genre, so I figure it will be in my future at some point.

I ended up getting both Heroes of Mana and Front Mission for my DS, so that could be fun sometime down the line.
  5. For Nier Automata, I’m just really looking forward to it because it looks hella depressing I don’t know how well my PC can pull it off, and I’m really not big on those high-octane character action games, so I will be slightly out of my element. I’ve still really been waiting for a chance to try it so I’ll definitely play it eventually. For Cyberpunk, I wasn’t even planning on getting it. I can’t even put my finger on why but it just didn’t appeal to me at all in any of its promotional materials. Plus, as I just mentioned, my PC isn’t some powerhouse, so I don’t expect it to run smoothly. However, I met up with an old friend over Christmas and he works for CDPR. Said he had codes for the game on all platforms and had nothing to use them on since he doesn’t intend to play it, so I asked for one and now I’m just more interested in playing it now that I got it for free

Hope you get the mic soon enough! I think we could do some cool things. In the meantime I guess we could flesh out what we could talk about. We could just go with FF/video games and talk about all the things we were planning for the FF Talks, but then I also have another idea I think could be cool, which I’ll keep a secret for now But honestly, I’m just happy I got a microphone finally since it opens up some new opportunities for me. I definitely want to spend some more time recording music, so I’ll likely start out doing some song covers, later moving on to my own stuff. Heck, maybe this’ll motivate me to finally learn guitar properly or tune my piano. I’m also thinking that I might actually attempt to stream FFVII once I reach that point in the marathon.

Oh right, speaking of the marathon, I really need to update my thread. I’ve actually played a whole lot during my break but I didn’t have time to update at all. I’m actually at the point where Galuf just died and I’m going to Exdeath’s castle. Been experimenting a lot with jobs and now my setup is Dragoon, Chemist, Samurai and Summoner. I’m actually really happy Galuf ended up sticking to physical jobs because 1) he looked really badass as those jobs and 2) now Krile is taking over for him and having the tiny girl be my main physical attacker is adorable. My break is until the 7th, so I think it’s possible I’ll beat this game before then, though I really do hope I can focus on my creative projects as well.
  6. Oh that's sweet. I have some friends who are trying really hard to get my GF to play Neir:Automata. It was a pretty chill game overall, though I'm not sure if I would say it's as groundbreaking as people give it credit for. Some of its philosophical themes have been covered in better games while the cool story/gameplay integration elements were all done in the original Nier, and frankly in a more profound way I would add.

I'm still on the fence about Cyberpunk 2077. With all the controversy though, I'll likely wait until they release a non-buggy version next year. I still need to pick up a new microphone set for my computer. I've been meaning to buy one I can use to make a demo tape with. My microphone is good, but is a bit too sensitive and likes to pick up too much background noise. My computer is also set up in a less than ideal place for recording, but I'm hoping if I grab one that has some better noise canceller features, I can do a-ok.
  7. So this Christmas I got the FFs I was missing on Steam, but I also got a free copy of Cyberpunk and I got Nier Automata for some of the money I got from my family. I’m also being sent an SDD so I can finally play Pillars of Eternity without the horrendous loading times. In general, I’m a bit tempted to put my marathon on hold, even though I’m looking forward to playing some FFs for the first time as part of the marathon

I did also get the microphone I wanted and the stand is on it’s way, so I should be able to record some stuff soon! Ready to start a podcast whenever you are
  8. I'll do my best.
  9. Just don’t even try to find all the Korok seeds
  10. I have serious completionist OCD, I hate open world games for that alone. It's why I had to abandon the Assassin's Creed games and Disgaea.
