Yeah, it's to stop exactly that sort of manipulation. The lock out period started with the DS, then carried over to the 3DS. It locks you out from time events for a couple days. But, if you know you're not usually on at a particular time, changing it so that time comes to a point that you're often on, then waiting a couple of days, is a great solution.

Not forever, just for two days, I think? Maybe just 24 hours, but I think it's 48.
uh may i ask... If i change my 3ds time am i forever locked from time based things like the Emotion and Beast trio, and Cresselia?

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to make a thread to gauge interest and find how many I'd need. But it'll probably be about a month before I'm done breeding them.
