  1. The Gamepad player can also freeze moving platforms temporarily and stun enemies and stop their attacks (which is a huge lifesaver in the more chaotic levels). The Challenge Mode has you doing a variety of different objectives from speed runs to getting as many/few coins possible, or even going through areas without any floors with only the Wii U Gamepad player helping you out. I actually had some friends over yesterday and had them try out the Wii U for the first time. We mostly played Nintendo Land (you should've seen all the screaming and laughter there was playing Mario Chase and Luigi's Ghost Mansion), but we did get to New Super Mario Bros. U where my friend had quite a lot of fun messing us up when we're trying to enter pipes. He did help out at all other times though.
  2. I got New Super Mario Bros. U (which doesn't come with the Wii U), Nintendo Land, and Scribblenauts Unlimited. New Super Mario Bros. U is a lot of fun, especially with the multiplayer, challenge mode, the giant non-linear world map (like Super Mario World's map), and the hectic level design. The levels are packed with enemies and the levels themselves are quite dynamic with plenty of shifting floors and platforms, especially compared to previous games (even the very first few levels are densely packed with enemies). Even if the people you're playing with aren't very good at Mario games, they can still be a huge help by making platforms with the Wii U Gamepad (which can save you from holes, help reach Star Coins, and make big jumps much easier to tackle).
  3. Yeah, it just looks like one of those set ups that you got to practice with a little bit. Did you get the New Super Mario Bros. Wii U game? That came out with it right? I've never played the Wii version but, seen game play of it and it looks fun! Especially with others!
  4. It's really awesome and insanely versatile. Besides all of the typical face buttons, trigger buttons, D-Pad, and dual analog sticks from typical controllers, there's also motion detection built into it and the separate touch screen is really convenient and versatile, being able to do things like inventories, maps, touch keyboards, and a separate game screen for a player who's trying to hide/run from all other players. It is admittingly complicated at first, but the Wii U set up when you start it up is quite straightforward. Nintendo Land, which comes packed with the Deluxe Wii U is a great way to learn and practice the Wii U Gamepad's functions and capabilities while still being an insanely fun game in itself (I'm particularly enjoying Mario Chase and Luigi's Mansion with my younger siblings).
  5. I'm good! I just got back to Illinois from Florida. I'm pooped. Hows the gamepad for the Wii U? It looks confusing to me.
  6. Hi! How've you been?

I got a Wii U (Nintendo's new gaming console) on launch day and I've been having tons of fun with it.
  7. Hi, Evastio.
  8. Mainly just Kirby Wii. I'm a sucker for 4 player co-op sidescrollers.

I'm interested in getting the Wii U, but I want to see what new games come out first (and I'll need to rack up the money for it).
  9. I was excited for E3. But then nothing new came out about the games I want. How about you? Any news on the games you're interested in?
  10. It's been a while since I've heard from you.

So are you excited for E3? I sure am. I even have the Nintendo E3 livestream loaded up already so I can watch it as soon as it starts.
