  1. One comment to the video is just "Turbo mode was in the International..."

Um, that's just what we said XD
  2. True, but the team was pretty inexperience back in the day. It's why transitioning from FFII (NES) to FFIII (NES) was pretty startling.
  3. I did notice Firion looked like Fighter from FFI in the original. Which is a shame because he has one of the most distinct designs in the series
  4. Well architecture is a new thing from the remakes, the original pretty much looks like the FFI engine for the most part, but yeah, now that you mention it, the designs do borrow some ME flavor.
  5. It definitely feels more somber. And besides the boss theme, there's Firion and Minwu's designs, on top of the architecture in some areas.
  6. I wouldn't say Middle Eastern, unless that is something the newer ports kind of added, I mean I do remember the boss theme getting a more Middle Eastern flavor so I agree there, but for me it really has more to do with the games more serious tone. Something I noticed when going back through the series.
  7. By the way, on a completely unrelated note - as I mentioned, my wife is playing FFII, and right now she's near the end (Mysidian Tower). And I've been thinking - is it just me or does FFII has this distinct atmosphere? There's something about the art style and music that makes me think of something vaguely Middle Eastern.
  8. I don't remember, its been a few years since I played.
  9. Why do games think this is a good idea

Anyway, thinking of grinding until I can fuse the three remaining devas - I already have Koumoku. Although I haven't battled Jikoku since he was DOA. Not sure I can fuse him then
  10. I felt the same way, the final boss was also a huge chore to kill in that game as well. There are reasons why I don't think about doing another playthrough.
