  1. Sorry, I didn't realise you didn't have any control over forum policy. I thought editors had a say in the way the forum was run, even if they didn't have any input in moderation decisions, but I guess I was mistaken in that.

Anyway, yeah, I don't feel like posting right now. Maybe if they change some of the stuff I've been talking about in my thread I'll be able to regain my enthusiasm for this place, but as I explained in my response, I feel like speech is so restricted here that I can't actually express myself the way I want to under the current rule set, so I'd rather just not bother at all.
  2. I'm not coming to you as staff, Aaron. If I was I'd be replying to your thread not a VM. I'm an editor. I don't have anything to do with forum policy.

I'm coming to you as a friend. And you're kind of insulting me over things I don't have control over. I came to you with a "Don't worry, it's slow cause EoFF does this. If you post more, maybe others will too!" And you go and try to lecture me Not cool.
  3. Well, like I said, I don't feel like posting right now, and I've explained exactly why, and no one wants to change any of it. If staff can't be motivated to fix the problems that have killed my enthusiasm for this place, that's not my problem. I've told you guys what I perceive as problems about this place. You agree with my complaints about reduced activity and ask me to post but don't feel like doing anything to address what I perceive as the problems. So I guess there are things more important to you than activity and that's fine, but I'm extremely unlikely to feel any motivation to post at this place as long as it's run the way it's currently is.
  4. EoFF goes through these phases. I know as I pay attention to our viewcounts for articles. It's not new. Usually what will spurr it back is some active poster! People see someone posting a lot of interesting things so they will join in. So maybe try to post some more and bam! Everything comes back!
  5. I wasn't saying everyone who's posting less was doing it for that reason. But I also think dismissing all of this as seasonal inactivity is a bad move, especially since I'm flat-out stating that my inactivity isn't seasonal. It definitely wasn't this dead this time last year.
  6. I highly doubt everyone's motivation to not post is because they can't post in feedback or rep in arcadia. It's just the activity all around that's low. As is this season it usually gets this way.
  7. Well like I said, ever since they made all the decisions I've been complaining about my motivation to post has been almost nothing. I suspect I'm not the only one with that problem.
  8. well seeing as your top posters don't even crack 100, it's not the only one suffering. It's the season, EoFF goes in lulls. Near the end of spring/beginning of summer it'll pick up then it'll super drop then pick up right before fall then drops until right before christmas then drops back down again. it's a strange trend but not surprising.

Although I know you're disheartened by the lack of rep and stuff, maybe try posting in other sections to drum up some activity. The more active the forum as a whole is, the more active your favorite subforums are.
  9. While the whole forum is undeniably less active, the politics forum seems orders of magnitude less active compared to its previous state than the rest of the forum does.
  10. It's not just that forum, the entire forum is dead. It's the season.
